Just two weeks ago, Joel Dara Robinson bemoaned that he soon may not be able to feed the 50 plus children who had grown accustomed to his warm lunch daily. His call went out but did not fall on deaf ears… The most recent to join the list of entities offering help is the Belize Tourism Board with a one thousand dollar donation. The funds were presented this morning at the organization's office on Regent Street.
BTB now joins Lee Mark Chang Area Representative for the UDP in Caribbean Shores and businessman of Chon Saan Restaurant, who pledged one thousand dollars monthly for the remainder of the school year and Commissioner of Police Chester Williams who along with his private donors presented an assortment of grocery and food items to the feeding programme. With more than 40% of Belize children considered poor, it is safe to say that quite many of our children may face the challenge of nothing to eat, much more a health meal prior to going to school.
