Last night another set of masked men robbed, restrained, and roughed up a caretaker on the Coastal Road.
53-year-old Jorgitio Romero says that at noon 2 dark skin men approached the gate of the farm he manages and asked if they could go to the river. Romero opened the gate for them and then turned to re-enter the house. That's when the men, whose faces were covered with red and white rags used a firearm to hit him to the side of the head.
They then carried him upstairs where they bound him with rope before ransacking the property. The robbers made off with a small gas tank and a red Meilum water pump. Romero remained bound until later in the evening when his wife found him and took him to the Western Regional Hospital for treatment.
