Frak Tragedy: Caller To WUB Dies On Air

Monday morning's WUB morning Vibes show will go down in Belizean broadcasting history as the first time that a call-in participant to a show dies while on air. Sixty-seven-year-old Keith Karranza Swift was a frequent caller to Mose Hyde's show.

On Monday he called in to raise the issue of the Coronavirus that was recently discovered in China, and said that Belize health authorities should begin screening Asians coming into the country. His last words seem to have been used to ask Hyde if he could cut in to make a point. Hyde tells him to let him finish his first. And it seems that, that's when Swift suffered a heart attack.

Here's the moment:

As you heard, gurgling sounds and screams could be heard as Swift's wife tried to revive him but it seems the host couldn't hear the ordeal because at a certain point he asks whether Carranza is talking to him or having another conversation. According to Mose they were talking and he suddenly went quiet. He didn't know what happened until later when Swift's wife called back to explain that he had passed away.
