Sworn to protect and serve but yesterday 22 year old Police Constable was arrested for another criminal offence.

He’s the same cop charged last month for the theft of three firearms from the Precinct Three formation in Belize City. 

Well, now, PC Mendoza is accused of an armed robbery in Cayo. It is alleged that on December 5^th he was one of the culprits who used a gun to rob 32 year old Peter Loewen. Loewen who is from Lower Barton Creek area in Cayo was traveling on a horse and carriage on Society Hall Road when two men on a scooter pulled up. They ordered Lowen to stop and when he didn’t, one of them fired a shot at him. He was then robbed of an unknown amount of money and culprits sped off. Police investigation eventually led to Mendoza as the culprit.

Mendoza was charged last night - and is expected to be remanded since he was on bail.

He was also the subject of a prior criminal complaint and charge, which the complainant had withdrawn against him.
