In terms of Cable television, Dangriga has gone dark for the past week or more. That’s right, Dangriga Cable Vision has lost its cable feed from CBC cable in Belize City - leaving thousands of subscribers without cable television.
The problem as we understand it is that BTL has cut CBC’s fiber optic line to Dangriga because the company has what we are told are sizable arrears going back over many years.
Sources in the cable industry tell us that both of the cable companies are seeking a work around, but - it’s no small feat - and none has come through yet. So, tonight - the only way to see this, or any newscast in Dangriga and other nearby Stann Creek villages is to stream it on Facebook.
