20-year-old Jahvis Wagner lost his life to gunfire on the eve of Garifuna settlement day. Wagner family and friends say that there had been threats against his life, those threats should have kept him out of Dangriga. But the young man who was dancing shortly before his death could not have been kept away from the celebrations that led to his demise.
And Jahvis was the third Wagner to meet his end within the year his stepfather Edwin Felix Nasario was killed in the parking lot of the Southern Regional Hospital in July.
Then In September, Jahvis Wagner's brother Jebran "Suku" Wagner was shot at a house party in Belize City. Three men, three executions, one family.
But today there is hope for justice, at least for Jahvis, Sr. Supt Hilberto Romero told us more about an arrest for the murder:

"Reference the murder of Jahvin Wagner which occurred on the 18th day of November 2019. On the 29th day of January, 2020 Police formally arrested and charged Everal Gray 35 years Belizean labourer for the crime of murder. Statements were recorded interviews were done and that is what led to the arrest of this person."
