There was another murder on the city’s Southside last night - the fourth in a week.  

This one happened around 8:15 on Ebony Street near its junction with Magazine road. The victim is 21 year old Kajoan Tony Roches, who was standing on the street side talking to some friends, when a gunman passed on a motor bike and opened fire.  

A friend who walked to appear off camera told the media that killing had never come to that corner before:

"It hit close to home because first time anybody get murder here so close, across the street from the mechanic, this never happen like that. We always keep the peace in our neighbourhood."

"The young man I understand, you know him right?"

"Yeah I know Tony from primary school you know, pretty boy that's what I use to always call ah. Always clean off when you meet he, stay clean off, always got his haircut, always clean off. Anywhere a party deh, Tony will be right there, never into trouble, just always hold his own corner to take his lee drink."

"Does he hang around here a lot?"

"He usually stop across there and hail his friends them because all of them, all of them gone to school together from primary school to high school, they are together. So usually just stop there and hail his friend or whatever, stop here and talk to me, always stop here and talk to me before he go home."

Police have made no arrests.
