And one very notable at the BDF Passout, was Minister of National Defence John Saldivar who tasked Minister Boots Martinez to deliver his usual keynote speech. 

BDF Commandant Steven Ortega who told us that this is the first passing out that Saldivar has missed out under his command.

"Why was Mr. Saldivar not here?"

"He will have to answer for that, I don't know."

"What is your opinion on it sir? On Minister Saldivar not being here being that he is the Minister of National Security."

"I don't know what his schedule is (laugh)."

"Has he missed one of these before?"

Brig. Gen. Steven Ortega
"Not since I took over."

Saldivar has not given the media an interview since November 3rd. He declined an interview at that time as he did at the BDF's last passing out.
