Cops Roughed Up “The Real Deal”
posted (February 5, 2020)
An 8 year old schoolboy was reportedly hit by a teacher's car yesterday as he tried to cross the street to catch a bus. The eight-year-old boy sustained a head injury that required 8 stitches. And while he has been sent home today his mother and grandmother have made a complaint to the police, and tried to contact the teacher at Grace Primary School.

When those attempts were unsuccessful that grandmother Carollette Gideon came to Channel 7 to have her voice heard but it seems the cops didn't want her to speak out. Here's how it all went down at our office this evening:

At 3:35 Carolette Gideon known as "The Real Deal" came to our offices to request an interview, but while she was speaking to our front desk two police officers came to take her away. They were telling her not to give the interview.

That's when our News director Jules Vasquez barged in armed with a cell phone to start his interview.

Carolette Gideon, Concerned Grandmother
"My grandson was knocked down by a teacher from Grace Primary school, my 8 year old grandson, 52."

But why were the police there?

Carolette Gideon
"Because they don't me to give Channel 7 an interview."

And, her story is about her grandson who was knocked down by a teacher.

Jules Vasquez:
"The accident happened where and when?"

Carolette Gideon, Concerned Grandmother
"Faber's Road extension about after 4 yesterday evening. A child from Muslim Community and the driver was a teacher from Grace Primary School. I don't know if this woman is superwoman or something why all this is playing out like this. When I got there she saw me coming, because my daughter already went there earlier and spoke to her and told her that I was going to come over. My daughter told me that she had this black thing tied on her head and she is like in the second or third classroom. So when I was riding on my bicycle cart, she locked the door, so I banged on the door when I got there. I ask her what happened, you say you were going to help with this little boy and now you are hiding from us for what reason? I didn't call you and threaten you no day."

Jules Vasquez
"Whats the status of your son?"

Carolette Gideon, Concerned Grandmother
"He has 8 stiches in his head. I have all the pictures in my phone. He has a scar on his hand and blood is coming through his nose now. The lady said that she was going to help with whatever medical assistance the child needs. I'm trying to contact her and she is hiding from me. I went to the school."

Jules Vasquez
"But you made a police report right?"

Carolette Gideon, Concerned Grandmother
"Yes, I made a report and I am supposed to go and press charges on her today, because all of this was finish last night."

Jules Vasquez
"Okay, and your grandson is in the hospital."

Carolette Gideon
"He is at home."

Jules Vasquez
"Okay, but you want her to be charged?"

Carolette Gideon
"Yes, I want her to be charged and I want her to deal with the cat scan that the boy needs, because blood is coming through his nose. They did an x-ray."

Jules Vasquez
"How are the police treating you?"

Carolette Gideon
"They are not treating me well. They did not take any pictures of the crime scene nor no measurements. I had to take pictures myself of the crime scene where the accident happened and the blood on the ground."

And before we could properly finish, she was taken away by the police, and she could face charges:

And when Gideon arrived at the Police station the teacher and principal were waiting for her. Police advised Gideon to submit a medical form recording her Grandson's injuries to the teacher's insurance company. According to Gideon, the cops also told her that if she makes them look bad on TV it could result in a misdemeanour charg. We'll have an update on the child's condition tomorrow.
