Deputy Compol Segura On Trial For Traffic Death

Also appearing in the Belmopan Courtroom today was Deputy Commissioner of Police, Mike Segura. His trial for various traffic offences resulting from the death of a 54 year-old woman, and the serious injury of her taxi driver, started today before Justice Cumberbatch.

Segura has settled a civil lawsuit but the criminal case proceeded today before a jury. Testifying this morning was Dr. Mario Estradaban who confirmed that the victim died from brain death, due to a spinal injury, due to multiple traumas, due to a traffic accident. The matter was adjourned until tomorrow morning at 9:00.
