Cops Reviewing Surveillance Video
posted (February 6, 2020)
As we told you last night, there was an armed robbery on Tuesday at La Popular Bakery, on Cemetery Road in Belize City.

Today Police discussed whether surveillance cameras will be of any use in catching the suspects:

Supt. Alejandro Cowo - OC, CIB Belize City
"On Tuesday, the 4th of February, just before 8 p.m., police responded to a robbery report at La Popular Bakery, located on the George Price Highway, where they spoke to one of the workers. He informed the police that whilst they were inside of the business establishment, two male persons entered the said establishment, and one of them [who] was armed with a firearm, pointed [it] at one of the cashiers, and demanded them to hand over the proceeds for that day. As a result, they handed over an undisclosed amount of money, and thereafter, the two male persons made good their escape."

Reporter
"Sir, that particular establishment has surveillance footage in terms of cameras right inside. Upon review of that footage, has police been able to identify who the perpetrators of this crime are?"

Supt. Alejandro Cowo
"Police have detained a male person, and they are looking for another one. And yes, the identity of one of them has already been established by police, and that is the one that is in custody."
