Teenager Dies in Motorbike Accident
posted (February 11, 2020)

18-year-old Edwin Rodriguez lost his life in a motorcycle accident on Friday. It happened when the teenager from St. Margaret's village collided with another motorcycle rider who was driving in the opposite direction.

That rider, 40-year-old Angel Espinoza survived the collision but Rodriguez was not so lucky. The boy died from his injuries after being transported to the KHMH, and today we spoke to his father who told us that after Edwin was hurt they couldn't do anything for him, nothing but pray. Â

Agraz Rodriguez - Father of the victim
"I feel so sorry about what happened to my son. He was working at the farm and was planning on coming home. But he didn't arrive, so we went to look for him. There they told us about the accident and that he was brought to the hospital in Belmopan and afterwards to Belize City. There was nothing left to do than pray to god. He is going to help him. He was a humbled person, worker type, he had no bad habits. He was just working with the others at the farm. He was a good person. He had no problems with anybody. He had just turned 18. It hurts a lot what happened because he cannot be replaced and we miss him very much. He was always with us. It will be so difficult not seeing him around anymore."

Angel Espinoza was released from the KHMH after being treated for hand and forehead injuries.
