Tonight, things continue to move fast in the UDP.  First, there is an emergency Cabinet meeting set for 10 AM tomorrow in Belize City.  7News has confirmed from multiple sources that the Prime Minister will strip John Saldivar of his National Security portfolio at that meeting.  It is unclear who could get that ministry - but Patrick Faber is not out of considerations - but it is too early to tell.  Faber could be in for an upgrade we are told - as now the whole leadership picture in the UDP is in flux.  

And, as we told you earlier, amidst all this furor over Kingston and Saldivar a picture finally emerged of Saldivar Dermen and and four other men, among them Belmopan Mayor Khalid Belisle and Las Vegas businessman Ramon Desage.

Desage is currently sentenced to three years in U.S. federal prison, The picture was posted to Desage’s Twitter page in January of 2014. We know that it was taken in Las Vegas which is interesting because we know Lev Dermen was then pressing to become Belize’s honorary consul to the City of Las Vegas.

We should note that while Mayor Belisle is pictured with the group - he said earlier this week that he last met with Dermen in 2015, not that he had only met him once.  Though his press release does suggest that he was making their acquaintance saying, quote, â€œI had recently been elected Mayor of the city of Belmopan and agreed to the meeting after their expression of interest in exploring investment opportunities in the City.  Believing that the gentlemen were completely legitimate and above board businessmen, and after cursory checks revealed nothing to the contrary, I proceeded with meeting them.  This was my last encounter with both gentlemen and there was no subsequent follow through on the part of either partyâ€￾.
