Cop Gets For Possession of Stolen Firearm

On February 6th, Police Constable Darwin Hernandez and his brother Rony were drinking and behaving disorderly at the Northern border. Border security attempted to calm them down, but when that didn't work Corozal Police were called.

When the cops searched them they found a 9mm pistol on PC Hernandez. Turns out the pistol had been stolen from Belize City's Precinct 3.

Both brothers were remanded for charges of keeping a firearm and ammunition without a gun license.

Today when they appeared in the court of Justice Antoniette Moore for a bail hearing.

She agreed to release them on bails of $10,000 each. The brothers were represented at the bail hearing by attorney Baja Shoman. Senior Crown Counsel Shanice Lovell represented the Crown.
