And there are also changes in the senate lineup.  And this one introduces a new face.  

Attorney Payal Ghanwani, will be appointed as the new UDP senator, taking the place of Steve Duncan - who resigned immediately after the UDP convention.  It is somewhat of a surprise because Ghanwani is not well known in UDP circles, but is a talented new face.  

She also comes from the law offices of Steve Perera, considered a UDP friendly attorney.  She becomes the first Indian-Belizean Senator and is expected to be sworn in at the next sitting in March.
