A rumoured case of COVID-19 in Dangriga Town, is just that, a rumour. And this afternoon the Ministry of Health made the clarification that Belize remains free of COVID19 formerly known as novel Coronavirus.

Three Belizeans who had recently re-entered the country were indeed checked on by the Health Department. One of them tested positive for a specific strain of the common flu virus.

The Ministry of Health says that all such investigations are followed up on for up to 14 days, which is the known incubation period for COVID19.
