41-year-old Roberto Cordova died yesterday as a result of a traffic accident near Placencia's Thunderbird junction. It happened around 4:30 in the evening when 27-year-old Justin Linarez, driving a black Ford Fusion around a curve, allegedly drifted into the opposite lane. Cordova was on a motorcycle, and attempted to dodge Linarez's vehicle but lost control and collided with the Ford before crashing to the pavement.‚
Linarez rushed Cordova to the nearest clinic for extensive head and body injuries. He was then transported to the Southern Regional Hospital where he succumbed.
Linarez has been served with a notice of intended prosecution.
