Primary School Stabbing On Street
posted (February 26, 2020)
A 13 year old primary school student was stabbed this morning while walking to church with his class - and the alleged culprit is one of his classmates at St. John's Anglican Primary School.

It happened at around 10:00 not far from the school on Mex Avenue when one of the schoolchildren was being reprimanded by the teacher for walking in the middle of the road.

Another student repeated the teacher's instruction making the first boy angry. He punched that classmate in the face. The student retaliated by stabbing his classmate with a sharp object. It is not yet clear what type of weapon was used.

But, the injury wasn't considered serious and an eyewitness told us the boys continued to walk with the rest of the class until a neighbour spotted blood on his shirt.

She pulled the injured boy on to her verandah and realizing he'd been stabbed told the teacher he needed to be taken to the hospital. Eventually, police were called and the child was taken to the KHMH for treatment of the injury which was classified as wounding.

A mediation session was held where both students apologized to each other and were cautioned.
