posted (February 28, 2020)
Tonight a heavy air of mourning and mystery hangs over the BDF and the nation as four soldiers are dead in the second worst air disaster in Belize's history.

The helicopter the soldiers were in went down in the Western Lagoon near Gales Point Manatee before dawn on Thursday. The four soldiers, two majors and two corporals were responding as air support to the interception of the drug plane which landed off the Coastal road. But, there's mystery because no one knew when the helicopter went down - and in fact, no one in the BDF knew it was missing until last night!

So, tonight, there are literally dozens of angles to the story - but it is more than a story, it is real life, and a devastating tragedy for the families of those four solders. And we begin with that, the identities of the four soldiers who died in the crash:

Felix Enriquez- CEO, Ministry of National Security
