A couple from the Saint Martin's area of Belize City is homeless tonight after their wooden house was completely destroyed by fire. The fire department says an illegal electrical connection is to blame. But this morning the distraught homeowner, who at the time believed himself a victim of arson, told us just how many of his hard-won belongings were lost.
There were reports that the fire was caused by arson after a personal dispute, but the fire department says there is no credence to that theory.
