Families Feel Betrayed By The BDF
posted (March 2, 2020)

Indeed, the BDF told us on Friday that they did contact the persons who are next of kin. But, according to reports even they feel betrayed by army that their husbands served.

A statement attributed to Jennine Thompson-Baizar, wife of Major Radford Baizar, says, quote, "These men did not have to die this way, it was not necessary for them to embark on such a deadly mission. Both Radford and Mr. Ramirez were experts, Radford especially was very much into safety, he would rather ground the aircraft and cancel the mission before risking his life and the lives of his passengers.

Now, this is only a statement attributed to her, and we could not confirm that she did write it - but Admiral Borland has seen it and he agreed that it touches on a very real sentiment:

Jules Vasquez
"We understand the families are very angry. They blame the BDF for sending these men out on a, I won't say suicide mission, but on a mission that was fraught with dangers. Second, their loved ones, presumably lay in the bottom of a lagoon undiscovered for maybe more than 24 hours, unknown for at least 16 of those hours. Those are the initial figures. These people are angry and they are hurting and they blame the BDF for not taking care of their loved ones. We know that on the battlefield the rule is you should leave no man behind. These families feel betrayed by the BDF. What can you tell them?"

Admiral John Borland- Chief of Defense Staff
"Sir, as I said. It is very unfortunate. One of the objectives of this investigation is to find out who is responsible, what protocols were breached, what procedures were breached, why did this happen, how did we leave those men out there for 24 hours? I agree with what the major wife has said. That's what it seems like. We have to ask the hard questions, we have to do an in-depth investigation and find out what really happened and hold those who are responsible accountable for their actions. It wasn't just systemic failures, it wasn't just human error, it was a combination of a number of factors."
