Fatal Accident In Armenia Claims Cargo Truck Driver’s Life
posted (March 3, 2020)
A 31-year-old truck driver was killed in a fatal traffic accident on the outskirts of Armenia village this morning when a 6 wheel cargo truck sideswiped an 18 wheeler.

It happened at about 6:30 between mile 47 and 48 on the Hummingbird Highway. Jose Quinonez, a driver for Vega and Sons Co., was headed south along with two sidemen when, approaching a curve, he lost control of the loaded 6 wheel cargo truck and slammed into a green international goods truck in the other lane driven by 23-year-old Nathan Gomez.

The collision caused Quinonez's smaller vehicle to overturn. He was tossed from the driver's seat onto the pavement where he lay dead among the truck's scattered goods. Quinonez's sidemen Kevin Torres and Melvin Ramirez both 26 years old were transported to the Western Regional Hospital to be treated for back pain and head pain.
