Man Pleads Guilty To Grievous Harm Of Ex
posted (March 3, 2020)
Conroy Roches is out on bail after pleading guilty to grievous harm committed against his estranged common-law wife, 35-year-old Sherema Graham. Justice Marilyn Williams will sentence Roches on March 20. Graham was viciously attacked by Roches sometime between 8:30 and 9:00 on April 24, 2015.

The couple had been separated for three months when Roches gained access to the home under the pretense of bringing an item for their son. Once inside he allegedly began to verbally harass Graham about being seen with another man. Graham then asked him to leave, but he refused. She went to her room to get her cellphone intending to call the police but had only placed her hand on the device and turned around when Roches knocked her unconscious.

She would remain unconscious for hours.

By 10:00 that night Roches was calling Graham's brother telling him to come and pick up the children. He would call him again with the same request at 1:00 the next day finally admitting that police were in the house and Graham was in an ambulance on the way to Belize City. Even more sinister is that during those hours Roches had allegedly changed Graham's bloody clothes discarding them in the backyard. He had also created a noose out of blue electrical cord which police later found tied to the ceiling.

Graham had been beaten beyond recognition, it was so bad that her cousin, Deborah Williams who was the driver of the ambulance did not even recognize her.

Graham spent two weeks in a local hospital before being flown to the United States for further treatment. She suffered facial fractures, a broken Jawbone, and two broken teeth. The effects of the physical damages persist to this day.

Today Roches's attorney, Darrel Bradley, made an application asking the court to grant his client bail of $18,000 plus one surety of $9,000 of which the crown had no objection to.

Roches remains on bail with several conditions. He had to surrender his passport to the clerk of court; he must continue to report to the Ladyville Police Station once a week; he must not have any kind of communication with Graham or go within 100 yards of her or interfere with her through any electronic devices or by a third party.
