Yesterday in the House of Representatives - Lake Independence Area Representative Cordel Hyde spoke on the Tuesday evening murders and shooting. Two of the events happened in his division and he lamented the attacks on three older men in less than two hours:

"In 2 hours one evening this week, 3 relatively young black grandfathers got shot; one Johnny the barber was the only ones who survived. Like why would anybody want to shoot Johnny the barber? Keith Courtenay, same age of me, 46 years old, lives 15 or 20 feet from me growing up on the long barracks on Sarstoon Street got killed trying to save his grandson from a valley of fire. Killed for no reason. Michael Barrera spent all his life taking care or trying to help young black men in Belize City and he got killed presumably by a young black man for no reason at all. That's the reality we are living in."
