Family Speaks On Painful Murder
posted (March 10, 2020)

And this evening we heard from Arnold’s son-in-law. He called her cruel and violent demise “ridiculous” and laments that the mother of 4 and grandmother of 15 who had spent many years working and providing for her family in the U.S. had her life cut off just as she was building herself a comfortable home.  We spoke to him via telephone.

Voice Of Marlon Longsworth Sr., Carolyn Arnold’s Son In Law

“My mother-in-law was somebody who helped everybody, everybody. She, anybody she saw, she was always helping people, so, for us, this is a bad blow because we figured that nobody would hurt her, no. So, we’re kind of the family everybody is trying to grasp the idea because who would want to do something like this? And then throw her to the garbage like nothing. We still haven’t, we know she’s at the morgue, we know she’s gone, but you still can’t accept it because you know you don’t want to figure, well. This morning we thought it was her heart. That she had a little heart condition, you know, so we had said she had a little heart condition, they found her it's her heart, she must have fallen down and her heart gave in but to, this way, you know, that somebody kidnapped her I guess and, you know, take her life and took advantage of her, you know. I think it’s something that no one would want to go through, nobody, no family member would want to go through to deal with their dad or their mom or anybody in that kind of way that took place like that. We’re figuring it had to be somebody that knew her because she wouldn’t go in anyone’s vehicle. If she didn’t know the person she would never get in that vehicle so we’re trying to figure it had to be somebody that knew her or more than one person. And where she was last night apparently last night because I asked the lady, she left there 9:00 o’clock last night from the house right around the lane and she didn’t reach home and it’s just one, two, three, four, five, six, seven houses just right along the lane. Mom was always a very loving person. She took care of everybody like I said all her grandchildren when they, in the evening she had her own little desserts and treats for them when she got there she stopped and gave them their little thing. So it’s like every day that was her thing, she found a way to bring something home for them.

I tell you I’ve been through different. This is the third, my kid's mother killed her in Melchor, My brother was killed at the gas station, now my mother-in-law. Thursday we’re at the house talking to her, my son and I were there talking and she was always buying her little boledo and I'm wondering now if she won the 03 and didn’t tell anyone. That’s what I’m worried about because that was her number. So we’re wondering if she won the boledo went to collect and someone followed her, that’s the other thing I was thinking about just now

Whosoever took my mother in law’s life I would want them to hand themselves over or hang themself.

We are still trying to grasp the idea. I mean this is something that I don’t think anyone when a mother, I mean Dad’s are, but moms are a different thing, and somebody who was always helping, she was in the states and she sent barrels and barrels for everybody. This is ridiculous she was trying. She was just building her little house. She was trying to do her little pastries you know she worked Sunday to Sunday, She worked Sunday to Sunday. Even though she had a little bad knee she still kept ongoing.”

Apart from 15 grandchildren, she also had 12 great grandchildren.

We are told that she may have been involved in a property dispute.

The Longsworth family is asking the public’s assistance in gathering any information that could help in the investigation surrounding their mother and grandmother’s death.
