A Coast Guard officer from Punta Gorda Town was shot last night.

The victim has been identified as 26-year-old Collin Ramirez, a resident of Santino Street in PG. Ramirez told police that at around 10:30 p.m., he was upstairs of Lions Den Bar, which was closed. He went downstairs to relieve himself, and that's when he heard the loud sound of 2 gunshots being fired near him. He then felt a burning sensation, and that’s when he realized that he was shot. He suffered minor injuries on his right wrist.

We note that he was shot in the same neighbourhood where a murder took place months ago.
