Two Families Destroyed By Double Murder
posted (March 16, 2020)

And the wide imprint of grief has also crushed the Leslie family. Â  We spoke with the family patriarch this evening:…

Phillip Leslie’s family is also grieving. And this afternoon his father fought through that grief to say that he’s incredibly proud of the man that Phillip had become.

Paladin Leslie - Phillip Leslie’s father
"Well I know him as a hard-working fellow. He was always committed to whatever he did. When he wanted something to get done. He always tried to be strong. Right now all of us are grieving and trying to stay as strong as ever, I’m speaking right now but I'm very emotional, even so I have to be strong because I’m the head of the home."

"My wife she is taking it very hard right now and my daughter and my two kids, Mark and Brianna, they are taking it very hard but we are okay and we are strong and we are trying to deal with it in prayer, you know, every day we try to pray, ask God to forgive us and give us the strength you know, stuff like that, through him we need to strengthen us because you need God, you need the father because this is a really serious time right now. The way he died he didn’t deserve the way he died. I mean the way it happened he didn’t deserve this because as I said he didn’t have a problem with anybody. He’s not in any gang or anything like that he’s just in the morning he always get his stuff ready to sell to, prepare to make his Pizza from Monday to Friday and then on weekends he did his paletas."

"They were very happy and they were living a good life and he was always there for the children to make sure they had something to eat for three times for the day and every time he would go and buy at the shop he would normally take them to shop with them and stuff like that."

That’s a sentiment we got from every member of the family. They say that Phillip and Shakira meant everything to each other. And that Phillip had really stepped up to being an excellent and loving father to her two children.

Voice of Shakira White’s Aunt
"Those two were a very loving couple always together. Mr. Phillip worked very hard and he treats her very well. She doesn’t go anywhere she takes Dominque to school and comes back. She’s always home with us here laughing, talking. We are very sorry for the loss for Mr. Phillip he came here living here with my niece and treated her with love and respect. He never did one day disrespect her or abuse her. He goes out there work come back feed them, love them."

"If a person wanted to kill a paletas man he can kill a paletas man out there. You don’t need to come to his house to kill him because a paletas man walks everywhere to sell a paletas so if you wanted to kill a paletas man a Pizza man you could have done it out there. So he doesn’t have enemies. He had just come home from selling paletas so he does not have enemies out there."

And while they mourn Phillip, the Leslie family is also pulling for little Dominique's survival.

Paladin Leslie
"Right now they did a surgery early this morning. He was rushed to the hospital very quickly and they did a surgery right away and so far they are saying that the little boy is critical but stable. There’s a fifty-fifty chance right now with the child but all of us are hoping that he make it through this. The child is innocent and all of us are, I lost my son already but we want the child to stay alive and make it through this."

Dominique Rhamdas remains in a critical condition at the KHMH. He underwent surgery this morning but now requires donors who can give A positive blood. The White-Blease family asks for the public's support at this time.  Â
