posted (March 17, 2020)

And to provide better advice in real-time for the public, the Ministry of Health has set up its own Emergency Operations Center in Belmopan. You’ll be able to call the EOC directly for advice from health professionals who will be manning the telephones for real-time help.

Here’s what the Health Ministry’s Information Officer had to say about this new EOC during this evening webcast:

The Ministry also announced today that there will be a number of activities that will either be postponed or canceled in accordance with the Government’s decision to limit gatherings to 100 persons or less. Several important cycling events such as the Cross Country Cycling Classic may have to be postponed or canceled altogether.

The National Sports Council has sent out a press release saying that they are suspending all activities at all of their sports centers countrywide.

We have also heard reports coming out of the Supreme Court that attorneys have engaged in discussions with the Chief Justice and other administrators about how the Courts can remain open to a certain extent, during the COVID-19 pandemic.
