KHMH Union Backs Down on Demonstration

Yesterday at the COVID-19 National Oversight Committee’s press conference Prime Minister Dean Barrow said that it was not the time for demonstrations - and the Leader of the Opposition backed him up. Many wondered what that would mean for KHMH union workers, who were set to demonstrate this evening. 

Well, they weren’t granted the necessary permits - police wouldn’t allow it for a mass gathering because of the COVID-19 limitations.  So, the union’s President and Vice-President are now gathering signatures to petition the hospital to re-purpose the isolation unit that has been prepared for the treatment of COVID 19. Â  We spoke to them today:
