We know you wouldn’t be wise to walk the streets with a gold chain, but now it seems you can’t even sit in your car with one!  

A man was allegedly caught on camera snatching a woman’s chain while she sat in a car. 

The victim is a 63-year-old woman who told police that at around 8:30 last Friday morning, she was sitting in her car on King Street. That’s when a young man shoved his hand through her driver’s side window, and grabbed her 14-karat rope design gold chain from around her neck. She said that she only caught a glimpse of him when he jumped on a bicycle and sped off. 

Police got video footage of the theft and they tracked down Damion Saldano, an unemployed of Plues Street and the victim identified him as her assailant. 

He was arrested and charged, and he was arraigned yesterday before Magistrate Khadeem Palmer. Saldano pleaded not guilty to the charge, and he was released on bail of $3,000. He returns to court on May 18th.
