PM Says FECTAB Missed The Point
posted (March 23, 2020)

And, speaking of  money, you’ll also remember how FECTAB’s vice president, David Almendarez mauled the Prime Minister and the Leader of the Opposition at their press conference on last week Friday.

FECTAB’s leadership was concerned that their membership would be shared out of the relief funds that the government is making available, and the press asked the Prime Minister about that. Here’s his response:

Rt. Hon. Dean Barrow - Prime Minister
"I see there was a press conference held by FECTAB or whatever it’s called and they said that we need to start paying now because we already have 75 million. Is explained, painstakingly when I spoke about sourcing funds, that, first of all, the 25 million dollars that we’re borrowing has to be approved by parliament. The house has done so, the senate meet on Wednesday. So we don’t get that 25 million dollar sunlit he budget with that additional allocation is passed."
