And, also at the airport earlier today… was a special Westjet charter flight from Canada chartered to fly out 14 Canadians who were stranded on the islands.

They flew out this morning from Caye Caulker - where they were lathered with hand sanitiser before they got into the plane, then flown to San Pedro, and then to the PGIA - where all the Tropic Air workers were masked.  

We are told that they didn’t go into the PGIA, customs and Immigration met them at the back where they were processed. The Westjet aircraft landed just before noon and they were flown directly to Canada.  

And, then, this afternoon the airport came to life again for the arrival of another, flight, this one a charter from Havana Cuba.  It is the first deployment of the Cuban medical brigade, 32 of 62 medical professionals.  The next half of the brigade is expected to land tomorrow.
