You’ve been hearing about the COVID-19 financial relief that the
government will be providing to the unemployed and recently unemployed.
The application form for these funds will be online by April 3, 2020
and a public announcement will be made once the form goes live. A press
release tonight says that once applications are received, the
verification and approval process will immediately begin; Verification
is being automated so it should be a quick process and Relief payments
should commence in the week of April 6, 2020
And this morning when we spoke to Belize hotel association President
Ted Tejada he told us that he will be providing a video tutorial on how
to fill out the form.

“The Belize hotel association has been working very hard with Karen
Bevans who is on the task force. We are working with Chris and Ms.
Carla on how we’re going to be helping all our employees as you know
the government has announced that by Friday of this week that format
will be loaded on the social security platform so all the employees
will benefit from this platform…I want to share with all the hoteliers,
especially the members of the Belize hotel association that we will be
doing a small tutorial on how to fill out this form because the faster
the hotel can help their employees to fill it out the faster they will
get paid. So we’re hoping that by next week and I know there’s been a
lot of employees out there already asking for assistance. They’ve been
out of a job now for almost two weeks, it is coming, just be watchful
of what the Belize hotel association webpage is doing check the social
security webpage and there is a COVID-19 webpage as well that is also
linked on the Belize Hotel association page hoping by Monday of next
week how to fill out these forms.â€
