The Science Of The Soft Lockdown
posted (April 2, 2020)

And while that provision was relaxed, as you heard, others have been tightened. But, the National State of Emergency regulations are still for a kind of soft lockdown.

AG Peyrefitte agreed today:

Hon. Michael Peyrefitte - Attorney General

“Well the type of freedoms and exceptions we’re making here, better we no have no lockdown, some people are saying that and that’s not a horrible argument, that’s a valid argument. However, we’re trying to strike a balance between not feeling like we’re in prison and at the same time being safe, so that’s what we’re trying to do with these exceptions, we’re allowing people to go exercise in the morning, we’re allowing people to walk and jog in the morning and we’re allowing stores to open, people can buy their goods, provided we respect the protocols of social distancing. That’s what we’re doing during the day, you have a lot of time, 5 AM to 8 PM, where you have so any things that you can do under the regulations, so we feel no guilt when we say, between 8 PM and 5 AM, the security forces will have no sense. Between 5 AM and 8 PM, the security forces will have all the sense in the world. Between 8 PM and 5 AM, it will have no sense. You are on the street between that time, you’re going to jail, period, simple.â€￾
