And for those who are hoping a pass can save them from such a fate, today’s bad news is that there aren’t going to be many passes issued - and none right now. The often pugnacious Peyrefitte explained:

“There will be no passes issued for at the very least the first week of this curfew, no passes. So anybody who is out there between 8 PM and 5 AM will be arrested and charged.â€
