Welcome back to 7News - if you're just tuning in, welcome - this is our second segment, the news started at 6:00 tonight, so we can all be home before the curfew starts...
But last night's curfew didn't stop a killer in in Punta Gorda Town - he struck before the 8:00 pm lockdown. The victim has been identified as 27-year-old Ismael Abel Jacobs, a resident of the Indianville area of the town.
Just after 7:00, Jacobs was at home with other individuals when a masked assailant barged in through the front door. The gunman immediately took aim at Jacob and fired several shots, which killed him in the living room.
Police recovered 3 expended shells and a slug from the scene.
