And with the community spread of COVID-19 likely in Belize, Police have had to tweak standard operating procedures. Today commissioner Chester Williams shared the various areas in standard operating procedures in which changes have and will continue to be made:

"Of course yes and we had put out a rule of engagement per say, in terms of how the officers are going to deal with the public based on whatever situation they are dealing with. So the SOP would say what happen to the checkpoint, what happen when you detain somebody, what happen when you have someone making a complaint - things like this. So it guides the officers with a view to ensure that they do not exposed themselves to the virus."
