PPE Inventory Under Lockdown Due To Siphoning
posted (April 7, 2020)
Turning now to what's next - which is the continued, sustained response to COVID-19, the Prime Minister stressed yesterday evening that there are ample tests available and a stockpile of PPE's.

Here's his statement made 24 hours ago:

Rt. Hon. Dean Barrow, Prime Minister
"We have a number, an ample number of testing kits for the moment. We are in the process of procuring more, so a part from the ramped-up sampling and testing that we will do in the Cayo District, generally, there will be increased testing throughout the country. Public or personal protective equipment, again, I see that there is an outcry on the part of the nurses. We dealt with that this morning and I hope successfully and I imagined that even now the authorities are in the process of communicating this to the nurses. We do have absolutely a sufficiency of PPEs, so no frontline worker need go without a PPE. Lots of the PPEs are in storage and unfortunately that had to be done for the purposes of accountability. You know how it is and I am not pointing fingers at any particular individual or group of individuals, but before the healthcare personnel adopted this new approach, there were leakages - some of the equipment were going missing."
