Tonight, we return to a story that is not suitable for kids. So, if
they are watching, either excuse them from the room or change the
channel.
Last night, we
showed you a very blurred version of three police officers coercing two
individuals into performing a sexual act.
It's evidence that only exists because it was filmed and shared by the
perpetrators.
And on Monday night when the vile video started making the Whatsapp
rounds it was brought to the attention of Commissioner of Police
Chester Williams.
Williams appeared viscerally disgusted this morning as he trudged out
of the Racoon Street police station to answer to the press about the
gross misconduct his officers have displayed at a time of national
emergency when the department has been virtually handed free reins over
Belizean society. Cherisse Halsall reports:
The Police department has consulted and sought advice from the DPP'S
office on this matter. Commissioner Williams has also assigned ASP
Martha Riess, the department's most senior expert in sexual cases, to
quote: "take the investigation where it ought to be."
