Cops Charged For Coercion Into Sex Act

Three police officers have been charged for coercing a couple into having sex and then recording it.

On Friday, April 10th, 2020, Police formally arrested and charged Jason Shaw 46-year-old, Belizean Corporal of Police of Orange Walk District, Leslie Martinez 38-year-old, Belizean Police Constable of a Belize City address and Anthony Villamil 20-year-old, Belizean Police Constable of San Roman Village, Orange Walk District for the crime of "Willful Oppression". On Tuesday, April 14th, 2020, all three officers were arraigned in the Belize City Magistrate Court, where they plead not guilty and were granted bail in the sum of $1,000.00Bcy and a surety of the same amount. The case was adjourned to Tuesday, July 14th,2020.

It comes from an incident one week ago, on Tuesday, April 7th, when a 45-year-old, Belizean Laborer of a Belize City address, reported that, at about 6:00 a.m., on Sunday, April 5th, 2020, he was on Central American Boulevard in an abandoned building with a female companion. Whilst in the building three police officers in uniform entered the building. One of the officers had a phone in his hand, asked him if he was having sex with his companion, and allegedly told him to finish. The male reported that he went behind his female companion and pretended to have sexual intercourse with her.
