How Long A Lockdown?
posted (April 15, 2020)
Earlier in the news we told you that the national state of emergency and lockdown will remain in effect until at least the end of this month, when it may be relaxed, extended or strengthened. All that depends on what kind of progress the community makes with limiting COVID infections.

But, according to the Director of Health Services Dr Marvin Manzanero on yesterday's meet the experts, it will be a year or more before any semblance of pre COVID normalcy is restored:

Dr. Marvin Manzanero, Director Of Health Services
"The current lockdown I know is going to at least by next week or the end of the month, but that's simply for us to get a grasp of the total amount of cases. I don't know that we will have an immediate re-opening recommendation from our end and even if there is you will understand that life will not be the norm. Whatever we had a norm is not going to be the normal as we move along. More than likely all the little lines that we have to now make to go to the supermarkets, to go anywhere, those will have to continue to remain, because Covid-19 is here to stay."
