Getting The Farmers Involved
posted (April 16, 2020)

And, there will be a deliberate strategy to involve local producers who have produce and meat to sell, but now have limited market options due to COVID-19:

Hon. Anthony "Boots" Martinez - Minister of Human Development
"I feel that the people that the produce chicken, at least in this first brush can't complain at all because like what I said, 4,900 originally on pantry, that transfer into 8,018 chicken. Then we are coordinating with the Ministry of Agriculture also to see what vegetables are in season. So if it's cabbage, if it's lettuce, if it's tomatoes, if it's potatoes, it it's onions. So we are saying that we will dictate the pace to the service providers to help the farmers because we need to protect the agriculture industry also. So I don't know what better system, a sceptical man like yourself could ever look at it."
