How Do The Cops Keep Up?
posted (April 17, 2020)
And while police may be using more discretion, they also have to be constantly doing homework because the State Of Emergency regulations are constantly being tweaked.

Today statutory instruments 55 and 56 went out with the latest regulations. Less than a month ago, the whole State of Emergency thing started out at SI No. 47.

It's a work in constant revision and we asked if police have a hard time keeping up:

Jules Vasquez, reporter
"Has it been a problem constantly tweaking these regulations?"

Chester Williams, Commissioner of Police
"We understand the tweaking now and then, every day we are fronting with new situations and the law must change to make those adjustments. I am happy that I am an attorney and I am even more happier that I have 3 more attorneys working with me and so it helps us to be able to read and interpret the law and share with our members. I personally would do a voice clip or a video explaining the law to the officers and I send that out on all the blogs for them to know exactly what to do and what the law is saying. So, it enlightens them in terms of what they can and cannot do and then you have Mr. Jones who every day he is on the blog informing the officers from a legal standpoint what they can or what they cannot do."
