On Tuesday we told you about the chicken crisis facing the nation. And at the start of the week dwindling poultry sales were straining the storage capabilities and threatening the freshness of products slated for sale. We also told you that one producer Quality Poultry was combating the crisis by offering buy two get one deals. And today General Manager Raymond Barkman told us that the sales quote: " are working very well." And he gave us a glimpse inside his production plant from hatchery to assembly line where they've managed to free up space and keep things rolling.
And if you've been hearing rumors of hens being destroyed Barkman says it's not so. As he tells it, producers have begun to give away hens to families in nearby communities.
As for the Chicken sale on offer, it will roll over into next week.
