Of course, even when those restrictions are relaxed, don’t expect those tourism jobs to be magically re-appear anytime soon! Withe Belize’s major tourism market being the United States, regular cruise or air travel from that country is a long ways off. Â
So, continued assistance to the jobless remains a priority - and the PM had an update on disbursements from the COVID 19 Unemployment Relief Fund:

"As of this morning 33,771 persons had been approved for the jobless benefits, with actual pay-outs to 23,680 of them; and 8,017 households of 32,871 individuals have received grocery baskets. This is in addition to the 4,000 households that get pantry under that pre-existing, long-standing initiative."
