How relevant is the Hippocratic oath during a Pandemic? Some may say more than ever, others may disagree. Medical professionals face particular risk, both to them and their families when treating patients who have contracted a highly contagious virus.

And two weeks ago when staff in the KHMH's ICU were exposed to patient #10 they found themselves facing a mandatory quarantine.

Today at the installation of the Hospital's testing booth we asked CEO Michelle Hoare how many exposed staff members have returned to work?

Michelle Hoare, CEO, KHMH
"Members that were on quarantine for the exposure for case number 10. They are all back at work."

"They've been swabbed and they've been re-swabbed and re tested and they are all okay, negative results."

"Our procedures are the same the minute we identify that the case becomes a suspect case then there are measures that are put in place immediately and so that is what we do we activate our next level of response and So that is what we do, so staff members that are exposed because they were unaware prior to the knowledge being forthcoming then those staff are reviewed, assessed and managed according to our protocols."

In his post last night, the Director of Health Services said the 65 persons under investigation includes "exposed health care workers who are going to be re-swabbed at day 14 or if they become symptomatic prior to the 14 days. To date all exposed staff tested have been negative."
