A man and a woman were shot last night in the New Site Area of Dangriga Town. It happened at around 8:10 while the couple was at home in a 2 story wooden house.
At least 8 shots were fired from outside the home. Some of those bullets penetrated the walls of Frederick Coote's home, hitting him to the right upper side of his chest and his girlfriend Temara Nunez to her upper right thigh.
Police recovered 6 expended 9 millimetre shells at the scene. That's in addition to the bullet that was taken out of Temara Nunez's thigh.
The couple was transported to the Southern Regional Hospital to receive medical treatment for their injuries. Nunez was treated and released from the Southern Regional Hospital last night. However, Coote remains under observation at the hospital. He is listed to be in stable condition.
The shooting is the product of gang rivalries in that town.
