Bowen & Bowen has made a major donation of supplies and equipment to the Ministry of Health - and it is sure to benefit front-line workers in the COVID 19 response. It includes 20 hospital beds with mattresses and 5000 surgical masks, plus one thousand PPEs and one thousand face shields, which are on the way, along with 10,000 COVID-19 Testing Reagents, and eight Ventilators.
Speaking with the press today via ZOOM video conference, the CEO and President of Bowen and Bowen said everything they gave was in coordination with what the Ministry of Health asked for:

"What they needed for the Ministry of Health. So it was with that coordination between our team and the Ministry of Health through the DHS that we went through this list and pick out the items that were to be donated and they actually specifically request that we donate the items rather than donate the funds for the items."

"How do you all source these items, because we know that right now there are global shortages of a lot of the things I have spoken about in your PPEs, ventilators, reagents - we know that there is such a global demand."

"It was tough; because of the fact with the US regulations right now they won't allow the re-exportation of these health items, because they are being held back for the US health services. So we had to go through different sources, I think these are all coming through Mexico, so some of the items are here and ret of the items will arrived on May 8 and May 15. What we have right now is 20 hospital beds and the 5,000 face masks that are arriving and will be delivered this week and then on May 8 and May 15, is the 8 ventilators, 10,000 Covid tests and as well as the PPEs, the face masks and the body suits. If none of these items are actually use for Covid patients, even the better. But nevertheless they are all still available for future use and the improvement of the Belize healthcare system into the future."
