Bowen Revenue Down 60%
posted (April 28, 2020)
The Director of Health Services today posted a thank you saying quote, "the commitment of the company…is more than appreciated."

And, the half a million dollar donation comes at a time when, arguably, the company can least afford it. Like everyone else in the shut down economy, Bowen's revenue has been hurting. How much? We asked the CEO today:

Michael Bowen, CEO/ President, Bowen & Bowen Ltd.
"Like all the businesses in Belize we are facing a significant reduction in earnings due to the Covid crisis."

Jules Vasquez, reporter
"Are you able to say how much percentage your volume of sales is down at this time?"

Michael Bowen
"Month to date we are down 60% in the beverage business. Across the board, I think we are deflected off our top line cumulative earnings about 15%, that's going to continue growing as we have a deficit for the next few months. We budgeted a Covid forecast of this month and next month of 60% down in sales and then 40% thereafter in Q3 and then Q4 depends on whether tourism starts to come back or some more regulations, but that's our prediction through the year."

Jules Vasquez, reporter
"Have you had to initiate staff cuts or cuts in salary?"

Michael Bowen
"So no, we have not committed to any reduction in head count. We are committed to our staff. We've been communicating on a daily basis with our leadership team, on a weekly basis we have a companywide town hall."
