If you're a Belize City resident, you might know Keith Yearwood as a professional PUP loudmouth. There's just no other way to put it. He's always on the air, on the street, and at the rallies, running down the UDP and bigging up his party.
He's a true blue soldier, and every mass party has personalities like that; they are part of the PUDP political DNA. And, as you'd expect, when the PUP won the Belize City Council in 2018, Yearwood was front and centre, and, sure enough, he got hooked up with a nice job at the council as Assistant Parks Manager.
That sent him from a life of scraping by as a taxi-man, to that of an office worker, a 9 to 5 employee, earning a regular pay check.
But, tonight he's back to being a cab driver because the council fired him yesterday. It happened after he showed up to the traffic department without a mask and tried to get inside. And it ended, he claims when the mayor showed him up. He told Jules Vasquez his story this evening:
